Not every day can be that stellar rock star day where we feel like we’ve conquered the world!
But every day does hold its value.
We bring varying levels of energy to each day as well. Have you noticed that? As we maneuver through each of these days, we must be mindful that we are not machines. Some days we will be that rock star who's ready to conquer the industry and the world!
On other days, we might struggle to even put each leg of our pants on, let alone share something profound.
Sometimes days or weeks can feel like they are just one groundhog’s day after another: many low-energy, tough days strung together that we juuuust need to slog through.
I have these periods. Sometimes I don't see them coming until they are right on me. Communications feel challenging, days feel long and heavy....just sometimes.
And this is when I know I just have to hang in there.
Keep the visions close and stay my course. If you have days or weeks (or months) like this, here are some ways to help you get through them.
Put yourself first for one single hour. Take a little time to eat something good for your body. Put your body into action! (Hey, jumping jacks and walking are free!) Drink some water to refuel your body and refresh your mind.
Think about the pain that your customers might also be going through, and review the content tasks at hand. Think of these questions. How can you help him? What does she need? Even on your down days, you may still have it better than your customer does. This is a great opportunity to focus on that, and in turn them, for even 10-30 minutes on these days.
A great way to shift that mindset is to focus on the good things you’re doing, or have done. Go back and take a look at the last few testimonials you’ve received. Remind yourself of the good work that you have done and the positivity you have brought others. This should bring you some great energy and a little more momentum to power through these days.
Sometimes ending your day a little earlier than normal might be the right thing to do.
Getting a little rest or sleep is a good idea when you have a few hard days in a row. These days can be debilitating and seem like too much to maneuver through.
If you do need to take some time, it’s not the end of the world.
Think of it like a weather system, just passing through. The bright days are no doubt on the horizon in future days!
Just keep going.
